WiM, which stands for Week in March, is a concept which was originally started in 1994 by members of Rev choirs who wanted a fun way to forge links between the choirs.  Over the years it has evolved and is now an annual event that takes place in a different town or city each year.

During the week, everyone gets the opportunity to sing in a large choir, learn new songs in a variety of styles and take part in a concert on the final night, followed by a party.  There are many social activities throughout the week designed to help everyone to mix well and get to know each other better. Everyone who attends has the opportunity to join a “splinter group” in dance, drama, sign language or production; another chance to learn new skills, draw out hidden abilities and mix with different sets of people.

During the week Revvers sleep in a church or community centre, and all their needs are taken care of by a team of people dedicated to making the event a success.  We make an effort to involve the local community in the event, by visiting local churches, busking and advertising the concert.  As there are usually between 60 and 100 members at WiM, everyone is placed in a Bond Group which functions as a small family throughout the week.  Time is allocated every day for a variety of activities undertaken with members of the group (including a meal out and team-building challenges) and being part of a small group of this kind ensures that everyone is looked after and considered throughout the whole event.

Around the middle of the week a professional gospel artist will visit WiM, and everyone will have the option of attending a workshop.  Typically Revvers have been taught two songs which are performed in the concert, and musicans have the choice to contribute to either the choir or the band for these items.

Being part of a Revelation choir is a unique opportunity for many reasons, and giving our members the chance to experience a range of events throughout the year is very important to us.  Over the years hundreds of Revvers from all over the country have benefited from attending WiM, and as a nationwide organisation it is our hope that many more will have the opportunity to explore the concept of Rev through attending the unique and special event that WiM has become.
