Make sure you don't miss THE Rev event of the summer!! Back by popular demand, Revvers from all over the country will head to sunny Scotland for a chilled-out week of singing, shows and sunshine! The event will run from Saturday 21st August until Friday 27th August, and you can come for part of the week if you can't manage it all. Sign-up forms are here.
In past years RESITS has included busking, trips to the beach, picnics, lots of late nights and later mornings, social time and other Rev-related madness. Edinburgh is bustling with the many sights and sounds of the crazy Fringe Festival making it the most exciting place to be in August. Combine that with your Rev friends and you have the perfect combination! Exact price is still TBC but as a guide, expect the event to cost around £35 including accomodation, food and a t-shirt. For more information or to offer to help organise the event, please contact Diane. See you there!

On the 19th March Abrev attended the second annual Aberdeen University Societies Ball; a night where all societies are invited to get together for a champagne reception, a 3 course meal, a few awards and a ceilidh, followed up by some dancing in a local club for those who still have energy left!
This year Aberdeen Revelation Rock-Gospel choir was short listed for the “Big Heart Award”. This award is awarded to a society for their work with charities both local and national as well as working with projects and volunteer groups in the local community.
After being shortlisted for the award with UNICEF and Marrow (last years winners) expectations weren’t overly high, but all were pleasantly surprised to hear the choir’s name read out as the Winner of the Aberdeen University Student Societies Big Heart Award 2010.

An organisation like Rev can't run by itself and that's why we have a team of staff members each with specific duties to help us on the way. There are jobs to suit everyone's skills and time availability, please check out the website for more information. If you would like to give something back to Rev, (and also have some charity work to put on your CV!) please seriously consider coming onboard as a staff member. It's really not a huge commitment and your help, whether it's 5 minutes or 5 hours a month, will be very much appreciated.
Please look out for more information on how to apply for a staff job on the website soon, or have a browse around the list of volunteers to have an idea of what jobs are available, and feel free to ring the National Coordinator for more information or to talk about national staff.
NB: Current staff wishing to continue in their roles must apply again in order to be considered for the position. :) |

Members of Revelation choirs across the country join in one concert on 10th April at 7.30pm, at Inchgarth Community Centre in Aberdeen. Tickets are £4. WiM (Week in March) is our national event held during the Easter holidays. This is the 17th WiM and we realise that it is April, however the very first WiM was in March and the name kind of stuck!
Members of all Rev choirs are invited to attend and we have many people here for the first time this year. This year's WiM is held in Aberdeen. It’s been 7 years since WiM was in Scotland, and people have travelled from all over the country to be here.
The focus of the week is to learn new songs, build new skills and to have fun. We learn all of the songs and performance pieces within the week!
During the week we have a lot of rehearsals but also many other exciting opportunities. This year we had drumming, arranging and conducting workshops run by members of the choir, as well as an external gospel workshop run by Alex Douglas. We also have splin-ter groups which are a time during the week to work towards something for the perform-ance. This year we had dance, drama, sign language, band, concert decoration and pro-duction. Don't worry: there have also been lots of social opportunities too including an inflatable's party.
The theme for this year's WiM is Roots and Wings. This was picked by the WiM team and reflects the way that we all grow and develop from WiM and also is about looking back at where we have come from and then looking forward to our inspirations and aspirations for the future. Also our vision for this year's WiM was to keep things simple but still awe-some. |
